$700 for a Samsung solid state disk

The 470 series of Samsung Solid State Disks is available in forms of 16 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB. Now comes the shocker – the 256 GB costs $699 while the 128 GB will cost $399. The 16 GB (kiddo!) will cost $199 (what?)
As we pointed earlier, these aren’t designed for the common man. The super sexy and super hot Samsung Solid State Disks boast of 30 nm MLC flash memory and a dual core controller designed by Samsung itself. The 3 GB/s serial ATA interface is fast enough to take care of speed when connected to your machines though the kiddo might be slower than its big brothers.

On one hand the 256 GB SSD has a read rate of 250 MB/s and write rate of 220 MB/s on the other the 64 GB baby has the write rate of 170 MB/s. Though 170 MB/s is fast enough for an average geek yet we are not sure why the difference in speeds between the different sizes even when the prices are high enough for the 64 GB SSD too.
